How Honeycolor.com stole christmas. - Honeycolor.com





So this review is based on my one time experience.
I placed my order on the 13th of December, so I would have it at home in time for Christmas.
The order I placed was :
- 2 lenses for me (1 was meant as a small gift for Christmas).
- 2 lenses for someone else.

As you can see from the title, something went wrong.
But first I will show you the advertisement of Honeycolor.com


















I never ordered from Honeycolor.com but the previous times I ordered from different shops all went well.
My order was over $90, and it stated a FREE EXPRESS SHIPMENT and I wanted my present pretty quick. If it wasn't for the fast shipping I wouldn't have ordered here.

But now to the downside of the story :
- My package did not ship in 48 hours like stated on the site. It took 24- 48 hours longer, causing me to get it the next week instead of the same week. (Sundays = no delivery).
- I did not get a message when the package was shipped, so I contacted the costumer service, and they told me that my package was on it's way...

So it already took longer, so the "fast express shipping" was just as fast as the regular shipping from any other site.

I got my package Monday 20th of December and I was pretty dissapointed!
The only lenses that mattered (the ones meant as a gift) we're in the wrong prescription. (instead of -2.50 they gave me -5.50).
Also the lensecases were pink/white ones which I didn't really like, but that is personal.

















I directly contacted the costumer service, but it took them over 2 days to actually write me something back.
They gave me a very small statement, but they refunded the wrong lenses.


Service : 6/10
I believe they offer a lot of great service. But I think the mailing should be faster. I mean more then two days to write something back. I think its because they were very busy with all the Christmas orders.

Shipping : 5/10
Shipping was not extremely fast, it actually was slower then expected. I had to ask for my tracking numer. But tracking itself was nice.

Overall experience : 5.5/10
The only reason I ordered from Honeycolor.com is because I thought it would be great to have a last-minute Christmas gift. It turned out wrong.
I think they are very busy with all their orders around this time of the year.
It was nice that they refunded for the wrong lenses instead of letting me mail it back.
They have lots of lenses to chose from (but that is almost every site).

Points that they should change :
- Faster e-mail response.
- Better e-mails, their tone-of-voice ín mails don't really sound right to me.
- Nicer looking contact case (animals or something else), but this is personal.
- Don't make promises that you can't achieve.

With all the events going on on the site, they made my expectations very high compared to other shops. This caused me to have a somewhat bitter experience with them. I will think twice before ordering again, but I guess it was all a misunderstanding.
